Greetings—my name is Jess Flarity and I am the new Graduate Licensing Assistant at UNHInnovation. My role at UNHI is to facilitate and recruit for UNH’s I-Corps Site program, which is funded by the National Science Foundation to help innovations generated by the university evolve from being research ideas into marketable products. UNH-based Entrepreneurs Launch Sustainable Clothing Brand on Kickstarter

A team of entrepreneurs from UNH Cooperative Extension have launched a new sustainable brand on Kickstarter called Nature Groupie Gear, selling products such as t-shirts, mugs and sweatshirts. UNH Extension will use the $20,000 in funds raised through Kickstarter to start a nonprofit business allowing nature enthusiasts across the country to show their appreciation for the outdoors while also supporting the work of Nature Groupie. In the beginning of June, 34 early-career scientists from across the country, including a UNH undergraduate student and a UNH graduate student, converged in Philadelphia to participate in the third annual BIO I-Corps Inclusive Entrepreneurship Training Workshop to learn about commercializing early-stage ideas. Initial Cohort of I-Corps Trainees Begins

In December, UNH kicked off its initial cohort of I-Corps™ trainees. The I-Corps training is part of an I-Corps Site Grant UNH received from the National Science Foundation (NSF) in early 2016 to foster entrepreneurship on campus and support the maturation of innovations developed at UNH from idea generation to commercialization.
