The University of New Hampshire (UNH) was awarded the Campus Culture and Policy Award by VentureWell, a leader in funding, training, coaching and early investment that brings student innovations to the world. UNH is one of 50 schools that are a part of the Pathways in Innovation (Pathways) community. Pathways schools are committed to integrating innovation and entrepreneurship into the fabric of their universities.
Nominations for the award were accepted from institutions in or connected to the Pathways community. A committee reviewed the nominations with a goal of selecting a school that exemplifies integration of innovation and entrepreneurship on campus in a way that increases student access and ensures the sustainability of the programming.
UNH was selected for its thoughtfully initiated and rapidly scaled efforts to maximize student engagement and forge connections across campus silos. In the span of a year, UNH significantly increased programming out of the Peter T. Paul Entrepreneurship Center, launched a new student run makerspace, saw a 300% increase in engineers participating in the Holloway Business Plan Competition, and launched a new I-Corps site.
The award was presented at the recent VentureWell Open Conference in Washington, D.C, and Andrew Earle, Assistant Professor of Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship at UNH and a member of UNH’s Pathways to Innovation team was there to accept it on behalf of UNH.
