UNH Hosts Industry Engagement Aerospace Science and Manufacturing Sandpit

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire will host a virtual, 2-day Aerospace Science and Manufacturing Sandpit that will take place on June 9th from 9:30 AM-11:30 AM and June 10th from 9:30 AM-12:00 PM. The event is one of UNH’s bi-annual industry-engagement events that promote innovation and collaboration between the university and industry by providing companies with direct access to UNH researchers working in the same field. This event is free to attend but registration is required.


UNH Endorses AUTM COVID-19 Licensing Guidelines

DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire (UNH) announced today that it has endorsed the COVID-19 Licensing Guidelines recently released by AUTM, the global association of technology transfer professionals.  

The principles provide solid guidance for technology transfer offices globally that are developing treatments and services that address the current pandemic. AUTM recommends offering time-limited, non-exclusive royalty-free licenses in exchange for the licensee’s agreement to deploy the innovations quickly to address the health crisis. The guidelines were published on April 15 and have already been signed by more than 40 institutions worldwide as well as the Association of American Universities and the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities.


Innovation Research Center Seeks Grant Applications from N.H. Businesses for Product Development and Research

DURHAM, N.H. – The New Hampshire Innovation Research Center (NHIRC) is now seeking grant applications from New Hampshire companies that wish to conduct research with New Hampshire-based colleges and universities, including the University of New Hampshire and Dartmouth College. A signed, nonbinding letter of intent (LOI) on company letterhead is due by Thursday, June 20, 2019. LOIs must include a short project description that clearly defines the research concept, identifies the company’s field of technology, and anticipates the commercial outcome of the project. Interested businesses do not need an academic partner to submit an LOI and assistance in locating a partner can be provided. Final project proposals are due Monday, August 12, 2019.


UNH Hosts Advanced Manufacturing Day to Promote Industry Collaboration

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire will host UNH Advanced Manufacturing Day on Thursday, May 23, 2017, from 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the John Olson Advanced Manufacturing Center.  The event is one of UNH’s bi-annual industry “Sandpits” that promote innovation and industry/university collaboration by providing companies in various industries with direct access to UNH researchers working in the same field. It is free to attend but registration is required.

UNH Advanced Manufacturing Day is designed to help companies and researchers identify and develop potential projects and partnerships, solve business challenges, and accelerate scientific innovation in advanced-manufacturing research and technology. Learn about UNH research in the areas of industrial internet of things, biomanufacturing, rapid prototyping, automation/robotics, machining, electronics manufacturing, composites, materials characterization, and more.


UNH Unveils New Portraits of J.D. Salinger in Honor of Author’s 100th  Birthday

DURHAM, N.H.—The University of New Hampshire will unveil previously unknown, rare photographs of J.D. Salinger taken by famed photographer Lotte Jacobi Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019, from 4-6 p.m. in honor of the 100thanniversary of the author’s birth. The photographs are part of a larger exhibition on Jacobi's work. The event is free and open to the public; Registration is requested.


Two NH Businesses Awarded Technology Innovation Grants for Research and Product Development

UNH Entrepreneurship Center Receives National Recognition for Its Growth

Paul Entrepreneurship Center (ECenter) won the “2017 Outstanding Emerging Entrepreneurship Center Award” from the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers (GCEC). UNH Receives $300,000 NSF Grant to Stimulate Entrepreneurship

DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire has received a three-year, $300,000 Innovation Corps (I-Corps) Site Grant from the National Science Foundation to foster entrepreneurship on campus and support the maturation of innovations developed at UNH from idea generation to commercialization. UNH joins just 45 other U.S. institutions to receive the designation as an I-Corps Site.
