UNH-IOL Official Testing Lab for the Broadband Forum Gfast Certification

The University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL) is the official testing laboratory for the Broadband Forum Gfast Certification. Gfast is a broadband access technology that deploys faster bandwidth speeds by extending fiber to existing copper wiring infrastructure. The University of New Hampshire (UNH) is home to many unique and unexpected things that the institution has collected over its 150-year history. However, there are probably none quite as unexpected as the university’s collection of authentic UFO-related artifacts from Betty and Barney Hill, the now famous couple who made the first widely-reported UFO abduction report in the United States. Paul Entrepreneurship Center (ECenter) Makerspace into their course programming. In February, Otto Luna, a Visual Resource Librarian at UNH, contacted UNHI about an unusual copyright inquiry. Otto is responsible for the management of the Visual Resources Center (VRC) within the Department of Art and Art History. Otto began working at UNH in May of 2016 and quickly discovered that his department possessed something really special – a collection of original signed lantern slides from noted British photographer Frederick Evans.
