UNHInnovation Refocuses Mission, Vision, and Values

Since its humble beginning in 1997 as the Office of Intellectual Property Management, once an office of two, UNHInnovation (UNHI) has grown and transformed into a team of over 30 people and a strong presence on campus and in the state. Between our five units, (i.e. Intellectual Asset Management, Strategic Partnerships, the Entrepreneurship Center, the InterOperability Lab, and the Connectivity Research Center), we work hard to protect, support, and promote UNH ideas and innovations, and build bridges between the university and the business community in many different ways. UNHInnovation Hosts Seventh Annual Innovators' Dinner

UNHInnovation (UNHI) hosted the seventh annual Innovators’ Dinner on October 5th to celebrate and encourage the commercialization of innovative ideas generated through UNH research. The dinner was held in the Huddleston Ballroom where faculty, staff, students, and industry partners gathered to recognize the UNH community for its hard work, which resulted in 167 licenses, 6 patent applications, and a record $860,000 in commercialization revenue in FY17. ECenter's Deshpande Pre-Conference - A Focus on FirstGen

In June of this year, the Peter T. Paul Entrepreneurship Center hosted a free FirstGen pre-conference event before the start of the annual Deshpande Symposium at UMass Lowell. The Deshpande Symposium is a gathering of like-minded practitioners with a focus on accelerating innovation and entrepreneurship across the university and college environment. The pre-conference was free and open to all universities who share an interest in and passion for the engagement of first-generation college students (FirstGen) in entrepreneurial activities. UNH-IOL Official Testing Lab for the Broadband Forum Gfast Certification

The University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL) is the official testing laboratory for the Broadband Forum Gfast Certification. Gfast is a broadband access technology that deploys faster bandwidth speeds by extending fiber to existing copper wiring infrastructure. The UNH-IOL’s Gfast Certification program was announced earlier this summer with the listing of the first seven certified products. Read More

Aliens at UNH - Licensing the Betty and Barney Hill Collection

The University of New Hampshire (UNH) is home to many unique and unexpected things that the institution has collected over its 150-year history. However, there are probably none quite as unexpected as the university’s collection of authentic UFO-related artifacts from Betty and Barney Hill, the now famous couple who made the first widely-reported UFO abduction report in the United States. This past July, UNHInnovation licensed various pieces from the Betty and Barney Hill collection to be reproduced and displayed on the TBS television show People of Earth. Read More
